Scott Somers is managing partner and co-founder of the Windale Group.  With offices in Los Angeles and New York, the Windale Group provides retained executive search services for consulting firms, for companies seeking general managers where knowledge of a particular industry may be less important than the ability to provide strategic leadership, for companies requiring executives or professionals for positions where a consulting background might be helpful, and for information content organizations.

Prior to the formation of the Windale Group in 2002, Scott was a managing partner with executive search firm, Ray & Berndtson, where he was the practice leader for the firm's Business and Professional Services practice in the US and co-headed the practice for all 44 of the firm’s offices around the world. Members of this practice conducted search assignments for professional services organizations and for corporations in key functional areas such as strategy, corporate development, finance/tax and assurance, human capital, legal and other functional areas.

Scott has conducted countless search assignments for partners and other professionals in consulting firms as well as for corporate positions including CEO, general manager, chief financial officer, chief marketing officer, as well as for positions in corporate development, business development and strategy.

Prior to joining Ray & Berndtson, Scott spent four years as a partner with executive search firm Korn/Ferry International. Prior to that, Scott was a consultant with McKinsey & Company, the international general management consulting firm. He also spent five years with the Wickes Corporation where he was director of international marketing for this building materials and furnishings company. Earlier he was an officer with the US Navy.

Scott holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Northwestern University Graduate School of Management (the Kellogg School), and has a bachelor’s degree from Brown University, where he was an elected member of the student government, played varsity football and was co-captain of the University track team.

In 2009, Scott was named by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger as one of seven members to the California Citizens Compensation Commission. The Commissioners decide the compensation and what, if any, changes should be made to the salaries and benefits for members of the Legislature, Governor, and other senior state elected officials. Scott is Chairman of the Board of the Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute (formerly Harbor-UCLA Research & Education Institute), and serves on the Board of Governors of the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation.

His community service has also included serving on boards or councils with Loyola Marymount University, the Ketchum-Downtown YMCA, the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Diabetes Association and other organizations.
